  • Spiritual Compass is an intriguing synthesis of spiritual messages, thoughtful reflections, and practical wisdom for healing all aspects of our being. Readers are treated to a wide spectrum of ways of healing; from learning how to forgive, opening a closed heart, healing from trauma, to simply understanding the way gratitude expands us and fear contracts us. Sue Hannibal writes with vulnerability and a true openness that inspires readers to look deeper into the wounds they carry and how those wounds can be healed.

  • I’m reading Sue’s book for the 2nd time and having the same reaction I did the first time – “OMG, she knows me!” This book was a mirror, one that I could finally face and say wow, so that’s what that was/is. The naming began my healing. A powerful, gentle, nurturing read. Highly Recommend.

  • Sue is the real deal. I contacted Sue in 2010 through the EFT website. I was stuck in the recovery process of a failed marriage and traumatic relationship. Sue’s initial reading was spot on. Over a period of 4 appointments Sue guided me utilizing the techniques explained in her amazing book. Her insight into the healing process enables individuals (me included) to escape the strongholds established by trauma. Get ready to soar to new heights. Your wings are waiting for you!

The Spiritual Compass Best SellerSpiritual Compass: Practical Strategies for When You Feel Lost, Alone and God Seems Far Away

#1 Amazon best-seller now available on Amazon, reviews coming in with 5 stars

Spiritual Compass: Practical Strategies for When You Feel Lost, Alone and God Seems Far Away will resonate deeply with you if you’re like the millions of people who’ve been chasing healing, sometimes for years, but have not found it through conventional psychiatry or psychotherapy. Like a tuning fork, it rings true for the spiritual seeker as well as for those searching for healing from childhood trauma, panic, phobias, combat trauma, feeling “not good enough” and a host of other difficult to diagnose and treat issues that may be rooted in a traumatic womb or birth experience or in another dimension such as a past-life or supernatural demonic oppression.

It opens with an autobiographical account of the author’s own painful journey through the “Dark Night of the Soul,” a crisis that readers whose lives have been upended by a spiritual calling may recognize. Thirty eight channeled essays grounded in practical wisdom and practical strategies from the author’s nearly two decades of private practice convey unvarnished universal Truths with a capital “T.” Readers from any culture or spiritual tradition can relate to these Truths channeled by the author, a gifted medical intuitive, spiritual healer, teacher and trauma expert.

Part II takes us into the healing room to witness cases of food allergies and hoarding rooted in past-lives, eight years of panic attacks from a traumatic birth, a case of multiple personality disorder and 27 years of phantom limb pain in an amputee that released in one session.

The journey of self-resurrection is preceded by accurate self-assessment and followed by deep healing. As the journey comes to a close, clients arrive in present time centered, grounded and at peace, embracing their recovered identity, voice, and power. Readers will see themselves and others in this first of a series, which reveals the stark contrast between “counseling” and holistic healing.

This volume is at times startling, always direct and is peppered with nuggets of scriptural truth that support the journey of renewal of mind, body and spirit.

A Big Wow

Some peoples’ life paths are such that they have no trauma, no baggage, and generally have a well-developed sense of self and a high neurological stress threshold. Others experience trauma and conflict, and then never find a way to heal from or transcend their wounds and limitations. Neither of these folks are particularly good guides to help others heal their mental, emotional or psychological struggles. Occasionally, however, you find a teacher who has been wounded and then finds a true path to healing, and that type of Teacher is priceless because they can show others the way!! Sue Hannibal is that type of teacher. She is highly intuitive and at the same time, practical, compassionate and grounded. Her life is truly committed to helping others heal as a form of spiritual service. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her book. The techniques and spiritual lessons conveyed through her are powerful, effective and timely, and will help lots of folks in their own transformation and evolution.

This book is for anyone who wants to see what it’s like to think outside the box of conventional clinical thinking. In fact, this book totally tears that box apart, and I mean that in a good way. Ms. Hannibal describes how she helps her clients by using a wide range of techniques, ranging from the psychological to the psychic, from the personal to the transpersonal, and her case examples are quite literally amazing. She includes treatment protocols, references, and resource web sites, so there’s something here for everyone. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the multidimensional nature of human beings, and how true healing involves many levels that we’re only beginning to tap into. A skilled intuitive and healer, Sue is the real deal.

Sue Hannibal takes us far outside the conventional box as she chronicles her evolutionary hero’s journey from abused wife to spiritual healer using intuition as her spiritual compass. She explains how she was guided through the entire mysterious process and offers ways that you can also connect with similar powerful intuitive guidance. Along the path there are intriguing encounters with demonic possession, past lives, birth trauma, and the development of channeling abilities. Her channeled messages from spirit provide practical wisdom and strategies for application. The case reports of intuitive readings make it clear that she has mastered the art of taking spiritual dictation for the benefit of her many clients and the readers of this book.

I started Spiritual Compass many months ago and was instantly filled with awe and admiration for the quality and quantity of what it offers.

Deep, enriching insights and understandings are filled with meaning and healing. I read it in bits, regularly for a while, and then sort of had to stop. It is so full of meaning, so intense that, in the end its richness overcame me and I took a break. Then later I started re-reading it and as the author says in the first part of the book…small amounts at one time are best. It is that rich.

I cannot tell you how much I love and admire and value this book. It is jam-packed with truth, insight, guidance and strength. There is sometimes a denseness in style that comes from channeling but it is clear and precise in language and in sensibility. An easy read that is far from easy. I think it will greatly enrich the life of anyone who reads it and more than once is necessary. Wonderful find. How lucky I am to have read it. I will read it again and again.

This is a truly wonderful enlightening book. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to gain strength from trusting in their spirituality, feeling that they are not alone, that they have a purpose in this life, and that they are always safe, however lost and afraid events may make them feel. It is indeed a compass, as its title suggests, to help us find the way through all difficulties by trusting in ourselves and our innate spirituality. It does this by inspiring us to stay grounded in the knowledge that all will be well. I really loved this well written book and look forward to more by the same author.

Phantom limb pain and a neighbor dying of cancer
Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2016

In Part II there is a case history about a man who suffered from phantom limb pain for nearly 30 years after losing his leg in a car accident. I am the woman who brought that man to Sue. I witnessed her guide him as he used EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, to first gently release his emotional pain about the accident and then heal the remaining phantom pain in his leg with her hands in one 90-minute session. If I hadn’t seen it, I wouldn’t have believed it!

I also took Sue to my neighbor who was dying of colon cancer with the hope that she could alleviate the physical pain of the end stages. My neighbor felt much better after one session and was very grateful to me and to Sue.

I was not in distress but wanted to see why I acted in certain ways that I thought were related to my parents being Holocaust survivors. In only one session, Sue was able to identify a few psychological issues I had, and once those issues were brought to the foreground, I was able to deal with several of those annoying problems on my own. Sue not only identifies psychological problems, but provides methods of self-help along the way.

This book recounts not only her own journey of self-healing but is also an account of powerful spiritual healing and integrity that is not often seen. This book will probably challenge everything you thought you knew about healing and it may change your life.

Let Your Heart Breathe New Life
Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2016

This book was such an inspiration and awakening starting from the first page. Much of what was written felt like my own thoughts were being put down on paper. The distinction between religion and spirituality written so eloquently and not judgmental. Just could not put this book down and completed within 2 days. So much information in this book, a definite keepsake for reference purposes. If you are on a spiritual path and embrace your life through your heart, read this. I felt at times I was conversing with an angel. Love this book and look forward to her next one. Thank you for writing what we all have felt and why we have felt it . . . I could hear my heart take a deep breath say ‘whew, I got it.”

After Sue did an intuitive reading for me by phone that was spot-on accurate, we did a few healing sessions. I was surprised at how fast her nearly 20 years of experience, (I asked!) intuitive abilities and spiritual gifts, which are chronicled in this very interesting book, enabled her to A) zero in on the root of my issues and B) help me transform them painlessly. Bottom line: I’m different, other people notice it and my life is moving forward in a positive way. Sue’s writing style and sometimes startling topics draw you in and keep you there. Great read.

This is an amazing book about how to truly heal from trauma at the deepest levels. As a medical intuitive in the field of energy psychology, Sue draws from an impressive toolbox of knowledge and skills acquired over twenty years of dealing with complex trauma. Her strategies are definitely practical and I can honestly say they work. This book intrigued me enough to contact the author, and two sessions later, I finally (after decades of struggling) see a path to releasing unhealed body-mind trauma imprints from my brain, body, and spirit for my own emotional and physical healing. Thanks for being such a wonderful light in the world and sharing “Spiritual Compass” with us, Sue!

Navigate life’s most burdensome challenges with a “Spiritual Compass”
Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2018

Sue Hannibal’s book provides an enlightened “Spiritual Compass” for many who have exhausted the conventional counseling and/or medication path to deal with their trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and despair. Over two thirds of her book is dedicated to fascinating, spiritually discerned (channeled) essays on a wide variety of topics common to the human experience, regardless of age, culture, world view or religion. The essays are full of uplifting usable wisdom and guidance anyone can apply at any age or with any personal circumstance. On a personal note, I reached out to Sue via her website. She taught me how to use EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques aka “tapping,” to self-heal a painful college experience that had caused life altering emotional pain. Within 5 minutes, I had catharsis, resolution and a broad smile as we talked through my story. I understand EFT is also being widely used for veterans suffering from PTSD. I join the chorus of reviewers who have highly recommended “Spiritual Compass.” This “five stars” book overflows with very practical, grounded guidance to help us navigate the perilous times we live in as well as bring healing insights to our past. It will have a permanent place on my nightstand.

I think it is a great guide for all of us
Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2017

I devoured this book in two days. I think it is a great guide for all of us!!!!!!!!

“Dear Sue, Your book arrived at a time when I have been having some doubts and doing some soul searching. I loved the book and could not put it down. The channelings spoke volumes. I have been pondering guilty feelings over prayers and manifesting with the rules I was brought up with. I love how you referred to scripture and how we see one channel but God is viewing the whole network.

I have always had faith that God will provide, but it was deeply rooted in my mind that I had to earn it. Another big one for me was forgiveness. I have struggled with forgiving my ex-husband. When you said forgiveness is handing that rope over to God and walking away in peace, it finally made sense. I just needed to let go of that rope. I just really loved your book and I just finished leaving a review on Amazon.

Thank you so much.”

Love: When Lovers Part

We wish to talk today about love. Love has a vibration and an energy that is made up of light, the same kind of light that makes up Spirit. When two people love each other, or when friends or a group of people are loving towards one another, the energy of love is flowing smoothly, embracing and enveloping and nourishing all involved. Love has such a high vibration that it has the capacity to heal, even in the physical. With enough love, any situation or condition can be healed or overcome. When lovers part, they should remember the love that once bound them together. If circumstances have changed, and they now find themselves with a need to move on, that doesn’t negate the love that was once between them. That memory of the love should be honored, and used as a tool to moderate the behavior of each partner at the time of separation. There is no need to be ugly and hurtful toward one you once loved. We find the dichotomy of this behavior absurd. This person was once the light of your life. Now that circumstances have changed, you turn your heart to stone against this person? This is an error. The Biblical instruction “love one another” is just that. It has no limits or conditions or circumstances.

Practical Wisdom

Occasionally it’s necessary for me to ask for direct guidance during a session when a client gets stuck in some kind of emotional or spiritual impasse, or when I need guidance as to what to do next during treatment. I tell the client, “let’s stop and ask Spirit for guidance.” If they agree, we say a prayer and I start writing the spiritual dictation. The guidance below came during the middle of a session with a couple I had been working with separately and who were considering divorce:

“There are many kinds of love and the deepest love is forgiveness. The power to pardon and accept the frailties and wounds of others is a powerful healing weapon. We use the word “weapon” the way a surgeon uses a laser—to pinpoint the source of disease and eliminate it without affecting the healthy tissues around it. In the same way, a relationship that has been pushed off its foundation of love, trust and safety, (imagery of an ocean liner listing to one side) needs to be righted once again and shored up with renewed safety, trust and the willingness of each partner to be vulnerable and to move forward leaving the wreckage of this situation behind. One cannot survive a lethal virus if one moves out of the area of contamination yet brings the contagion along. The roots of feeling unsafe, distrustful and inability to be vulnerable need to be healed in both partners or else the venom will go on to wound the next generation.”

Practical Strategy

Consider rethinking your attitudes about forgiveness—what it is, what it isn’t, why you should do it and why you’re not doing it. Forgiveness is not letting the party who hurt you “win.” It isn’t about deciding not to forgive because if you do, there won’t be any evidence of what they did to you. That’s an unhealthy strategy that traps you in a victim/martyr pattern. Holding a grudge to punish the other party tends to boomerang back to us in a karmic way. Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase to the effect that not forgiving is like drinking poison and expecting it to kill the other person. There’s a difference between holding someone accountable, to require them to take responsibility for hurtful words or deeds, and going on a quest for vengeance. Stalkers operate out of vengeance. Men who kill women who leave them do it to punish their former lover for her rejection. In the Christian tradition, there is the verse from the Lord’s Prayer, “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others who trespass against us” and the Prayer of Saint Francis that begins, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.” True forgiveness brings peace. In the chaos, cruelty and madness of today’s world, peace is a nice place to be.
