The ACE Study, done at Kaiser hospital in San Diego in partnership with the federal Centers for Disease Control, identifies ten categories of childhood abuse/neglect etc. that have been proven to deeply damage a child’s health into adulthood. It can also impact their developing personality, identity, personal power and self-esteem.
